Lighting a workspace is often treated as a secondary concern until a fixture gets knocked over or shattered by a stray piece of equipment. Traditional area lights rely on tripods or flat bases that are easily tipped, leading to broken bulbs and work stoppages. Texas Portable Lighting approached this problem by designing a fixture that refuses to stay down.
The Self-Righting Design
The defining characteristic of the TPL-EXAL360 Upright Light is its upright-weighted base. Rather than falling flat when struck, the light uses a low center of gravity to wobble and return to a vertical position. This design ensures that 360-degree illumination remains constant, even in high-traffic zones where equipment and personnel are constantly moving.
High-Impact Material Selection
The outer housing is constructed from heavy-duty metal. This material is selected specifically for its resiliency against high-impact forces, unlike competitor products with polycarbonate shells. Whether it is dropped during a load-in or struck by a tool on a crowded floor, the metal shell protects the internal LED components from the shocks that typically end the life of a standard work light. The light heads are explosion-proof or standard waterproof fixtures.
Jobsite Illumination
The 200W LED system provides full-circle coverage, eliminating the dark spots created by directional panel lights. By placing the light in a central location, a single unit can provide clear visibility for an entire crew, keeping cords and clutter to a minimum. The fixtures have optional female receptacles that can be daisy-chained together.
